There are many different languages that are spoken throughout Southern Europe. Many of the coastal countries tend to have a more linguistic diversity. The majority of the languages of this region has been derived from Latin. Many of these Latin derived languages are considered romance languages and are very popular languages today. The romance languages and German are found by the coast while Slavic is often found more inland.
